Today's youth worse in literacy and numeracy

According to a report from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the age group between 16-24 are the worst to language and mathematics performers to ever exist. It also stated that the level of basic skills has deteriorated over the past 40 years with average students getting lower marks than their parents as well as grandparents.

This is quiet a scary fact, but with the way things are run in this modern world, this should not come as a surprise to anyone, young or old. Although there is a higher number of people passing with higher grades and going to university, advancements in technology have made it easier for us to deal with everything whereas in past years, random humans had to use their mind twice as much as our generation.

Older people will always be better skilled and in a better position than us in all aspects of life in general, therefore we should look up to them and try to emulate their behaviour although it is a challenge.
